Mrs. Cecile L. ( Morin ) Bertrand

1911  -  2011

Cecile L. (Morin) Bertrand 100 of Clermont, Florida and formerly of Leominster died Tuesday September 13, 2011 in Clermont Rehabilitation Center in Florida. She was born on April 27, 1911 in Leominster, MA, the daughter of William J. and Lillian (Cote) Morin. Cecile was a graduate of Leominster High School and a member of St. Cecilia Church, St. Jean de Baptiste, Ladies of St. Ann, Leominster Senior Citizens and Leominster Golden Age. Cecile lived in Leominster most of her life moving to Florida several years ago. She is survived by her son, Rene R. Bertrand of NJ; daughters, Lucille Ross and her husband John of Fitchburg, and Marie Gallagher and her husband Richard of FL, a brother William Morin, Jr. of Leominster, and 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
Cecile was predeceased by her husband Rene Bertrand who died on November 27, 1967 and sister Clair Morin who died in 1989.

 

Funeral Information

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday September 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Leominster. There are no calling hours.

Alice F. (Watson) Gately

1912 -  2009

Alice F. (Watson) Gately, a resident at Life Care Center of Leominster, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009.

She was born on January 31, 1912 in Clinton, to the late Joseph S. and Gertrude (Felton) Watson, moving to Leominster at a very early age and attended the former Lincoln School in Leominster. Alice graduated from Leominster High School in the Class of 1929 and Worcester Secretarial School.

She was a life long member of the Leominster Methodist Church and a City of Leominster retiree, retiring in 1973, as a bookkeeper for the Superintendent of Schools. Alice was an expert seamstress, enjoyed mystery novels and the challenge of the daily crossword puzzle.

Her husband Henry Gately, passed away in 1980. She leaves a son, Jim Gately and his wife Kay, of Bryn Mawr, PA and a daughter, Anne Cook and her husband, Fred of Fitchburg, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Ethelyn Johnson and Virginia Pike.

There will be a graveside service to be announced by the family at a later date. The Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West Street, Leominster is assisting the family with arrangements.

Gordon Phillips

1912 - 2002

CAPE PORPOISE - Gordon Chase Phillips, 89, a resident of Wildes District Road, Cape Porpoise, died Jan. 5, 2002 at the Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford.

He was born Oct. 10, 1912 in Leominster, Mass., the son of George and Bertha (Chase) Phillips.  He died in January 10, 2002

He was a graduate of Leominster High School, Leominster, Mass., the class of 1929
